Welcome and Farewell July Celebration

Welcome and Farewell July Celebration

Earlier this month, Welcome and Farewell Events were held across Australia to celebrate the departure and arrival of Australia Awards Scholars. The On-Award Engagement Coordinator attended the Adelaide event, and enjoyed a presentation from both a completing and commencing scholar. It was wonderful to hear about the impact of the Australia Awards experience on their lives and studies. When invited to one of these events, we highly recommend attending and taking the opportunity to celebrate your Australia Award experience with your fellow scholars and the other attending representatives from academic institutions and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

This presents the opportunity now to welcome our new awardees from the South and West Asia region who have commenced their studies in semester two. As of July, there are currently a total of 281 Australia Awards scholars from South and West Asia on-award across Australia.

If at any point throughout your award you have a story, experience or a photo to share, regardless of whether you’ve just commenced your Australia Award experience or will soon be completing your studies, we would love to hear from you. Your story may even be used on the website to share with your fellow awardees. Please get in touch via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

In the meantime, please join us all across the Australia Awards South and West Asia Program to extend a warm welcome to all of our new awardees, and in particular those that you may meet on campus or at any of our engagement activities.
